Jade Sunouchi scraped material from family experiences, everyday life, and the American political muscle-machine for her first poetry sequence, Mouth to Wall. Her poems have earned her the Myrle Clark Award and the Academy of American Poets Prize. She holds a B.A. in English and a Minor in Japanese from the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa. She lives in Honolulu with her seven pigs, Wilbur, Yoshi, Patrick, Ralph, Ethan, Penelope, and Dustin.

READ HER STUFF!!
[Regrettably, Robert Sullivan will not be able to read at this Lunch Poems. We hope to have him at another event!]
and the amazing "harmonicizing" ...
Danilo (Nilo) Marrone enjoys playing solo harmonica and is a musical omnivore who listens to anything that appeals to him. He completely agrees with Duke Ellington’s quote: “If it sounds good, it is good.” His major influences are Charlie Parker, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Tal Farlow, and Peter “Madcat” Ruth. Besides making music, Nilo is also a Hao style tai chi chuan instructor, surfer, storyteller, and sometime poet/short-story writer. For more information about Nilo, check out his homepage:http://homepage.mac.com/danilomarrone and performances on YouTube (search for his alias “bluespuppet”).
